Terms of use

Version of 2 October 2026

These terms cover your use of this archive (the site) and everything you submit through it. By using the site, or by sending a submission or a report, you accept them.

What this site is

This site is a public, searchable archive of material about the DeepSeek Persona Incident, kept so that the record of what was reported during the incident cannot be rewritten or quietly erased. Records are submitted by the public and published only after a moderator reviews them. A record's presence here is not a finding of fact about any person, and nothing here is a statement about anyone's guilt or innocence.

Published material is public

The archive is open to everyone and meant to be searchable: published records can be read, indexed by search engines, shared, and copied by anyone, including people you did not intend to reach. Do not submit anything that must stay confidential. Submissions that are not approved are never published.

Submitting material

Anyone may submit evidence, or report a published record. By submitting, you confirm that you have the right to share the material and that it follows the rules below.

Submission rules

  • Censor personal information

Evidence must not expose private information about anyone: names, faces, handles, phone numbers, addresses, workplaces, or anything else that identifies a private person. Censor it before submitting. If a published record is found to expose personal information, it is corrected or removed. This protects people on both sides of the incident.

  • No fabricated material

Submit only material you believe is genuine. Fabricated evidence, edited screenshots presented as originals, and material submitted to frame someone are rejected. Verified reports of false records lead to removal.

  • Lawful content only

Pornographic, terrorist, and other illegal content is never accepted. Submissions must comply with applicable law, including the regulations that apply in mainland China.

  • Right to submit

Submit material you have the right to share. Do not upload private conversations you were not part of unless the public interest clearly outweighs the privacy of the people involved, and censor accordingly.

The licence you give the archive

You keep the rights you hold in your submission. You grant the archive's operators a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, review, censor or redact, publish, reproduce and distribute the material as part of the archive, and to remove it later. You confirm that you hold the rights needed to grant this, including any consent required for material about other people.

Review, refusal and removal

Every submission and report is reviewed by a person before anything is published, and the operators may refuse, censor, or remove any material, with or without a stated reason. There is no right to have anything published, and a published record can be withdrawn after a verified report, on legal requirement, or at the operators' discretion. Unreviewed submissions and reports are deleted automatically after 30 days.

Reports and complaints

Anyone can report a published record with the report form, attaching evidence where possible. Verified problems are corrected by censoring the record, or removed from the archive. A request from a person shown in a record is honoured after review. Use the report form for anything about a specific record; for legal notices and other correspondence, use an operator contact address if one is published in the site footer.

Prohibited submissions and use

Submissions must not contain the following, and you must not use this site to:

No warranty

The site is run on a best-effort basis and provided as it is. The operators do not warrant that it will be available, complete, or free of errors, that any record is accurate, or that material will stay online. Records are third-party submissions: the operators are not their author and do not endorse them. Links to other sites are not under the operators' control.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, the archive's operators are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the site, from reliance on any record, or from a submission being published, censored, or removed.

Applicable rules

You are responsible for following the laws that apply to you. Submissions must also comply with the regulations that apply in mainland China. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be waived, including privacy or personality rights a person may have over material about them.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated; the version date above changes when they are, and continuing to use the site or submit material afterwards means you accept the new version.

Contact

Use the report form for anything about a record. Use an operator contact address, if one is published in the site footer, for legal notices and other correspondence.
